Ayo Awosika is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and vocal coach living in Los Angeles,CA.

BIO AND NOTABLE CREDITS

Ayo Awosika is Berklee College of Music graduate and a Los Angeles based vocalist, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, and vocal coach.  As a background vocalist, she has performed with artists including Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, Rob Thomas, The Chainsmokers, Danny Elfman, Dua Lipa, and Tune-Yards, among others.

A Berklee College of Music graduate, Ayo is a passionate educator with 15+ years of teaching experience. She has created and curated various masterclasses, workshops and voice curriculum for several different private music schools in the US and also has a roster of students around the world.  She has written vocal arrangements and vocal produced for a number of artists. She is currently working on new choir music that will be available via live concerts, workshops and sheet music.

Ayo has sung in feature film scores for The Lion King, Minions 2, Nope, Creed III and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, among others.  She was recently commissioned to compose and conduct a new choral piece for a 250 person choir that debuted at the 2023 Sister Singers Network Festival in Cleveland, Ohio.

ALBUM + ADDITIONAL PROJECTS

Ayo’s first full length independently released album, “We Best Not Wait” released in 2015, is a collection of songs with jazz, soul, r&b and folk influences. Produced by Grammy winning producer Scott Jacoby, it features incredible musicians Cory Henry (of Snarky Puppy), Grant Gordy (David Grisman Quintet), Adam Tressler (Selena Gomez, Lil Nas X), Zach Mangan (Secret Architecture and Kettl Tea), Reuben Cainer, Garret Sayers, (The Motet) and Julian Smith. Ayo is 1/5 of the meditative R&B band, Mantragold. She is also the co-founder of Naija Girl Tribe: a non-profit organization that works to provide career and personal development resources for young Nigerian girls.
